<?php echo “we need a new developer”;?>

OMFG we’re busy! We’ve been working on some amazing web products for some huge clients recently. It’s a ton of fun, but we’re exhausted!

We’re a creative team of eight web designers and developers, and we enjoy working on innovative, challenging, fun, and positive-impact projects that make a difference to businesses and to people. We care.

We specialise in Drupal development, but we deal with all sorts of systems including Drupal, Wordpress, Symfony, Node, Ruby, Perl, and more. If you want to help us plan and build websites and applications with some great opportunities to “geek out”, then you might have found your next career move!

In return for your hard work, we offer a great salary, a generous pension scheme, 25 days of holiday, and lots of fun, variety, and room for growth.

Our offices are in Kidlington, just outside the lovely city of Oxford.

What will you be doing?

You will not be bored! You’ll be working on a range of challenging projects at any one time with responsibility for these and other tasks:

  • Planning and delivery for a wide range of new and existing projects utilising PHP, Symfony, NodeJS, Drupal, Wordpress and whatever-is-around-the-next-corner. We build websites, web applications, database integrations, mobile apps and a whole range of other stuff

  • Co-ordinating with the rest of the development, design and project teams and managing your workload to deliver on time and on budget

  • Helping the support team to identify and resolve customer queries

  • Proactively looking for opportunities to improve our development processes and deliver better results for our customers

  • Playing a key role as part of an agile project team

Is this you?

  • You’re a talented and versatile software developer who loves to create great solutions

  • You can take a vague requirement and tun it into the right solution for the customer

  • You should have 2 or more years of full lifecycle web development, from planning and design through build, testing and ongoing support

  • You  like working in a team, and can communicate well with technical and non-technical people

  • You love to fix others’ bugs, and you can help our support team quickly diagnose, triage and resolve issues

  • You are great at managing your own time, and take responsibility for your work

  • You’ve an almost annoying attention to detail, and won’t stop until the job is done right

  • You love technology, and you love to keep learning. We use the right tool for the job, so you’ll need to be flexible and keen to develop your skills

Is this you too? These are nice-to-haves

  • You’ll have a relevant higher level degree, or great experience

  • You know how to create sites using Drupal or Wordpress

  • You can build websites, optimised for performance and speed

  • You can cope with working on multiple concurrent projects in an agency environment

  • You’re used to version control systems such as Git or SVN

  • Do you have DevOps experience? We use Linux, Apache, MySQL, NGINX, Varnish and other tools. Any experience would be useful

  • You know how to make a good cup of tea

This is a permanent role based in our Kidlington office, but if you're after part-time hours, that's great! It might suit a freelancer too.

Interested? Drop us a note to givemeajob@versantus.co.uk, including a CV and a cover letter explaining why we're a good fit.

No agencies, thanks!
