As we continue to evolve in a rapidly changing digital landscape, we are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director (NED) with a strong background in commercial strategy to provide independent insight, challenge our thinking, and help shape the next phase of our growth.
Role Overview
The Non-Executive Director will work closely with the senior leadership team to provide strategic oversight, particularly in areas of commercial growth, positioning, and revenue strategy. With experience in digital agencies, professional services, or technology-led businesses, the ideal candidate will bring a commercially savvy and forward-thinking approach to scaling a business in a competitive market.
This role requires around two days per month, including participation in Board meetings and occasional ad-hoc advisory support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Commercial Strategy: Guide the leadership team in refining and executing a clear growth strategy, focusing on new revenue opportunities, pricing models, and market positioning.
- Financial Performance & Risk Oversight: Support the leadership team in improving profitability, financial sustainability, and pricing models.
- Ensure Strategic Execution: Hold the leadership team accountable for delivering on agreed strategic objectives, ensuring progress is tracked, measured, and adjusted where necessary.
- Challenge & Support Decision-Making: Provide constructive challenge to the CEO and senior leadership team, ensuring that key business decisions are well-founded, data-driven, and aligned with long-term goals.
- Leadership Mentorship: Provide independent challenge and guidance to the CEO and leadership team, ensuring key business decisions are made with commercial and strategic clarity.
- Business Development Insight: Provide input on sales and marketing strategies, helping us identify new opportunities, partnerships, and client acquisition channels.
- Industry Trends & Market Intelligence: Offer insight into industry best practices, emerging technology trends, and competitor strategies to keep Versantus at the forefront of innovation.
- Attend and engage with monthly management meetings and 6-monthly strategy days
Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience at Board level, either as a Non-Executive Director, senior commercial leader, or growth-focused executive.

A strong background in commercial strategy, business development, and scaling digital or technology-led businesses.

Experience within digital agencies, SaaS, professional services, or AI-driven businesses is highly desirable.

A track record of improving revenue streams, refining pricing models, and driving strategic growth.

Deep understanding of B2B sales, digital transformation, and evolving client expectations.

Financial and operational acumen, with the ability to challenge and interpret business performance metrics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide strategic input while respecting the role of the executive team.
Time Commitment & Term

Approximately 2 days per month, including Board meetings and strategic advisory discussions.

Initial appointment for 1 year, with the option to extend based on mutual agreement.
